Material: Reclaimed synthetics
Technology: Endless process
Manufactured by: Studio Dirk Vander Kooij

Dirk Vander Kooij uses industrial robots to create large-scale objects using a deposition of recycled materials from plastic appliances (e.g. fridges). He found the printing process worked best when it used a continuous stream of plastic, which resulted in the “endless” nature of this piece.

Studio Dirk Vander Kooij is an emerging product design studio based in the Netherlands. Dirk Vander Kooij is a designer and a craftsman, although most of the things he produces are actually not made by hand. He is a new kind of craftsman, one who embraces technology and machines, but not in the same way that industrial producers embrace their manufacturing lines. In sum, he wants to design, create, improve, and create again.
